Belclene® 283 has been developed as a calcium carbonate inhibitor and a
multifunctional formulation support agent in industrial water systems and other related
applications.
The active ingredient of Belclene 283 is a maleic acid copolymer. The CAS number is
113221-69-5.

Thermal stability (DSC)
Differential scanning calorimetry has shown that Belclene 283 is stable up to a
temperature of 200°C (392°F).
Chemical reactivity/compatibility
Belclene 283 is not affected by chlorine or other oxidising biocides under normal
use conditions. Test for compatibility with long chain nitrogen compounds, aliphatic
amines and quaternary ammonium compounds.
