Belcor® 575 corrosion inhibitor
General Product Information
Belcor 575 has been developed as an all organic corrosion inhibitor for mild steel
in industrial water systems.
The active ingredient of Belcor 575 is hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid. The CAS number is
23783-26-8.

Chemical reactivity/compatibility
Belcor 575 is slowly oxidised by free residual halogen and is readily oxidised by
strong oxidising agents. In the presence of free halogen, Belcor 575 may partially revert
to orthophosphate, but field experience has shown that it can be used effectively in
halogenated systems. Further details are available on request.
Thermal stability
Differential scanning calorimetry has shown that Belcor 575 is stable up to
temperatures of 160°C (320°F).
