Houghton Chemical offers a Hydronic Fluid Evaluation Program designed to help ensure proper corrosion protection, freeze protection, and long-term fluid performance in customer systems utilizing WINTREX® , SAFE-T-THERM® and GeoSafe® heat transfer fluids.
The Standard Hydronic Fluid Evaluation Program is available at no charge for systems containing 250 gallons or more of Houghton Chemical heat transfer fluids. Routine fluid analysis helps monitor system condition, minimize replacement fluid requirements, reduce maintenance costs, and support long-term equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Houghton Chemical offers both Standard and Extensive Hydronic Fluid Analysis programs depending on system requirements and application complexity. Standard analysis typically includes freeze protection, glycol concentration, pH, reserve alkalinity, and general fluid condition evaluation. Extensive analysis may include additional testing for inhibitor levels, contamination, metals, chlorides, conductivity, and other system-specific performance indicators.
As part of the program, Houghton Chemical can provide convenient fluid sampling kits for customers participating in the evaluation process. Initial system sampling is recommended after the fluid has circulated for approximately 24 hours to establish a baseline analysis and confirm that the system is operating within recommended fluid specifications. Annual fluid analysis is recommended after startup to help identify changes in fluid condition, inhibitor depletion, contamination, dilution, or other factors that may impact long-term system performance.
